CoFSA Indigenous Peoples Engagement Advisor

Bernard Yangmaadome Guri is CoFSA’s Indigenous Peoples and Local Communities Engagement Advisor. He is Ghanaian and holds an MSc degree in Development Studies from the Institute for Social Studies in The Hague. He also holds a Diploma in Rural Policy and Project Planning from the same Institute. He obtained a Bsc degree in Agricultural Science from the School of Agriculture and a Diploma in Education in the University of Cape Coast Ghana. Bernard is a development practitioner with over 30 years of field experience in agriculture and rural development. His special interest and passion over the years has been in Indigenous knowledges and institutions development. Consequently, he has been at the forefront of promoting IK and culture as the foundation for appropriate and sustainable development in Africa. Bernard is currently the Executive Director of The Center for Indigenous Knowledge and Organizational Development (CIKOD), a founding member of The Alliance for Food Sovereignty in Africa (AFSA), and the Coordinator of Compass Africa.
