Nature Connection

In our fast-paced lives, we often consume food from supermarket shelves without considering the soil that nourished the plant, the plant that bore its fruit or the animals that grazed in the meadows.

In response to this CoFSA convened a nature connection session to practice and restore our bond with the natural world and delve into how this reconnection can inform the design of projects and interventions that prioritize our relationship with nature. Central to our philosophy is the understanding that we are an inseparable part of nature.

Throughout the session, participants engaged in a harmonious blend of guided meditations, captivating storytelling, and stimulating group discussions. We had the opportunity to reflect on our own experiences and relationships with nature.Throughout the session, participants engaged in a harmonious blend of guided meditations, captivating storytelling, and stimulating group discussions. We had the opportunity to reflect on our own experiences and relationships with nature.

By fostering this awareness, we hope to inspire a more profound appreciation for our interdependence with the natural world and its significance in our lives. Watch the recording of the session!

Some questions, for each of us, to continue reflecting on how nature connection can nourish our work on food systems transformation:

When I honour food as a sacred living being, what do I want to say to it?

If the soil or water spoke to me today, what would it tell me? How would I want to share this?

What do I want to give thanks to today? How do I want to do it?
