Cultivating Joy

In celebration of the UN International Day of Happiness on March 20th, 2024, The Conscious Food Systems Alliance hosted a session on “Cultivating Joy: A Consciousness Practice to Transform Food Systems” to explore how to cultivate joy in our life.

During the event, Mahiya Zoe Matthews, the Community Manager of the spiritual community of Ananda Assisi and author of the much-loved best-selling book “A Taste of Joy”, shared how simple practices – such as cooking and catering with joy– can nourish us at many levels, and cultivate inspiring and healthy relationships within food systems.

Afterwards, Liliana De Leo, founder and president of The Living Laughter Academy, presented her work focusing on helping people use laughter as a form of exercise to decrease stress, improve health, and optimize resilience. We engaged in a practice of laughter yoga and ended having a wonderful and joyful moment.
