COFSA

Community of Practice and Learning

CoFSA brings together an intentional community of peers, supported by a collaborative digital platform, where individuals and organizations can connect, learn and exchange knowledge, support and inspire each other, and collaborate to build conscious food systems.

Collective Inquiries & Consciousness practice sessions

Starting from March 2023, the Alliance offers a series of collective inquiries and consciousness practice sessions. It is an opportunity to engage in inspiring conversations and transformative experiences, to collectively identify inner pathways for building more regenerative food systems.

Visit our events page to stay up-to-date on our happenings.

The collective inquiries

The collective inquiries bring together experts and stakeholders from around the world to share learnings, generate new insights and support collaboration and implementation on COFSA main areas of intervention. These areas include Conscious Farming and Community Development, Revitalizing and Strengthening Traditional Wisdom, Conscious Consumption, Cultural Transformation of Organizations, Conscious Food Policy Reform and Conscious Multi-stakeholders Dialogue. The collective inquiries will identify in particular existing initiatives, expertise, methodologies and tools, as well as opportunities for adaptation, replication and scale-up.

They are not intended to be isolated or one-off events, but rather the starting point for a broader and ongoing collective effort to implement CoFSA core areas of intervention.
After each event, an action group is established on the CoFSA digital platform, open to CoFSA members. These action groups host additional in-depth sessions, as needed, to allow for continued learning and collaboration among the participants and support the creation of a list of methodologies and tools that will inform the CoFSA service offer.

Consciousness practice sessions

These sessions will allow participants to experience consciousness practices, how they can help cultivate inner capacities and be leveraged for food systems transformation.

Consciousness practices include: nature connection, mindfulness, deep listening, emotional awareness, compassion trainings, non-violent communication and conflict resolution.

Connect & Practice

Members have the opportunity to connect with peers and discover like-minded people through a digital space for in-depth discussions, organized gatherings and intimate monthly coffee chats.

Also, they have the opportunity to join collective practices led by experts on deep listening, mindful eating, and meditations.

Collaborate

CoFSA enables members to form partnerships for deep collaboration. Members draw on each other’s experience and expertise to collaborate on specific issues and initiatives through dedicated self-organized action groups hosted in the Digital Platform.  One action group already established is the Global Network of Local Hubs.

Global Network of Local Hubs

The Global Network of Local Hubs is an action group bringing together a network of local centres or ‘hubs’ offering on-the-ground conscious food learning programs and retreats to local and global actors. It aims to facilitate an equitable exchange of knowledge and experience across local hubs and to empower members to co-create and provide programmes for a broad range of stakeholders.

Towards that aim, the action group is holding a series of Collaborative Learning & Action sessions with an emerging group of 24 organizations from across 15+ countries, such as India, Colombia, Brasil, Cameroon, Vietnam, Peru, Zambia, USA, UK, Belgium, Egypt and Australia. The sessions enable hubs to exchange learning and solutions on specific challenges in relation to the development and implementation of conscious food programs, and to find support and inspiration through the network.

The sessions serve as a framework for the collaborative development of a Conscious Food and Farming curriculum, led by Schumacher College, which aims to give learners and leaders the confidence and core knowledge to help build regenerative and conscious food systems at the grassroots level around the world.
