Food systems are often analyzed through technical frameworks such as agricultural productivity, supply chain efficiency, or policy design. However, emerging scholarship in sustainability and leadership suggests that transformative change in complex systems also requires shifts in perception, values, and collective awareness. Agriculture is not only an economic activity but also an ecological and cultural relationship between humans and land.
This interactive session introduces an integrative framework connecting yogic models of human awareness with regenerative food system practices by drawing from two classical frameworks —
1. Pancha Koshas – five layers of human experience
2. Pancha Mahabhutas – five ecological elements
Through facilitated reflection, participants will explore how leadership qualities such as empathy, discernment, and relational thinking influence decision-making in food systems organizations. The session concludes with a 30-minute Yoga Nidra practice, guiding participants to integrate these insights and reflect on their roles in advancing regenerative and conscious food systems.
