The Conscious Food Systems Alliance is delighted to welcome you to join an interactive dialogue on “Depolarizing Food Systems: from Polarization to Compassionate Co-Creation”. Together we will explore one of the most pressing dynamics shaping our food systems today: polarization—and how we might transform it into an opportunity for compassionate co-creation.
Across the food system, divisions run deep—between environmentalists and agri-industrial actors, meat eaters and vegans, etc. These divides can easily harden into conflict, yet within polarization also lies the potential for creativity, empathy, and systemic renewal. During this 90-minute session, we will hear from experts and practitioners working on the frontlines of food system transformation, who will share concrete case studies and personal experiences of navigating polarization and fostering cooperation.
Participants will also have the opportunity to engage through small group reflections and a Q&A discussion, deepening collective insight and connection. This dialogue will explore:
- Why food system issues so often become polarized and what lies beneath these divides.
- How “creative tension” can be harnessed for dialogue and transformation.
- Practical insights from those mediating conflicts and building cooperation on the ground.
- The inner skills—such as deep listening, curiosity, and non-judgment—that help us move beyond entrenched positions.
