In a time of political, social and environmental crises and heightened polarization, the challenges of designing and implementing policies for sustainable, equitable and healthy food systems are amplified. The leadership skills and inner capacities of those responsible for driving policy change become all the more essential.
CoFSA has started exploring the “invisible yet essential ingredients for transformative food policy and governance” through two informal dialogues with senior policy makers and advisors in December 2023 and March 2025. The outcomes of these dialogues are presented in this report.
CoFSA will deepen its engagement with National Food Systems Convenors, government officials working at national and local levels and parliamentarians through a diversity of events, culminating with participating governments’ engagement in the Global Conscious Food Systems Summit hosted by the Government of Bhutan in 2026.
CoFSA’s Conscious Food Systems Leadership Programme provides a space where interested policy makers and governmental officials can explore inner capacities and leadership development with other food systems professionals.
